ESP Guitars was founded in 1975 as a small repair shop in Tokyo, but it wasn't until the mid-80s that the guitars and basses became known worldwide. The year 1987 was a significant turning point for the establishment of the brand in the USA and the LTD '87 series is a faithful reproduction of these instruments from the ESP catalog of that year.
